This year Armenia has been celebrating the Museum Night for the 15th time, in Artsakh for the sixth time. The event is held on the closest Saturday of the International Museum Day celebrated on May 18 under the auspices of the Council of Europe, UNESCO and ICOM.
The International Museum Day is celebrated since 1977 on the initiative of the International Council of Museums (ICOM). The aim of the day is to raise the role of museums in social and cultural life of the society, to create a favorable environment for the popularization of museum subjects. Every year the number of participating museums and thousands of visitors increases.
The State Museum of Nature of Armenia, as in previous years, has also joined this year’s Pan-European Movement and presents its list of unique events, as well as the two-day event program, which will touch upon the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Armenia.
According to the format of the event, the doors of the State Museum of Nature of Armenia will be free for the public on May 18 from 10:00 to 18:00 and on May 19, from 18:00 to 00:00.
