St. Easter or the Glorious Resurrection day of Jesus Christ this year (2019) is celebrated on April 21.
The Glorious Resurrection of Jesus Christ is called Easter, which means division, separation, removal of sins, and returning to God. Easter is the oldest and most important feast of the Armenian Apostolic Church, one of the five pavilions. Starting from the Passover tribute to the Jews today, during which Jesus Christ was crucified and resurrected in Jerusalem in the first century (the exact date is disputable between 27 and 33 CE) in Christianity. After the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ, in the evening, pious people dropped His body off the cross and placed it in a grave cellar close by a large stone. Three days later, on Sunday morning, oil-bearing women, Mary Magdalene, Mary’s mother Mary, and Soghomon went to the tomb of Christ’s body to anoint them with aromatic oils, but they were surprised to see that the stone’s entrance was removed and the tomb was empty. While they were in doubt, two angels appeared and said: “Why are you looking for the living among the dead? It is not here, but Resurrection. ” Christian churches celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ as Easter because, according to Christian teachings, Christ is the eternal sacrifice or liturgy through which man receives forgiveness of sins, then life and resurrection. The apostle Paul calls Jesus Jesus, Easter, “… because Christ, our Passover was dead …”

Easter is a moving holiday, meaning that every year its celebration is changing. The Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates it on the first Sunday of the moon after the spring night, which falls on March 22 and ends on April 26 (35 days).

On Easter, believers paint eggs. The painted egg is considered a to be the symbol of Resurrection and a new life. The red color symbolizes the resurrected Jesus’s resurrected blood for the salvation of mankind. According to St. Grigor Tatevatsi: “Only  on Easter we dye Eggs because the egg is an example of the world,” and as the wise says. “The outer bark is like the sky, the mucus, the air, the protein, the water, and the color is the soil. And the red color symbolizes the blood of Christ. And we take the red egg in our hands and proclaim our salvation. ” Easter precedes the Great Week! The main ceremonies related to Easter begin with the weekly Saturday weekend and end on Monday. On Saturday night, a liturgy of Christ’s resurrection or a lamp shrine, which ends seven weeks before Easter, is a part of the Greater Pass. At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the believers greet each other with the gospel of Christ’s resurrection and receive the blessing of the resurrection of Christ. The liturgy takes place and the Divine Liturgy is served on the Easter Sunday. The Feast of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ The Armenian Church celebrates the fiftieth day until the Pentecost (Pentecost). This process is called the Hinats region or the Hinunk, which originates from the word “quintessence.” The forty days of the Old Testament are the remembrance of the resurrected Christ to testify to His disciples and to testify to the kingdom of God (Acts 1: 3), and the last ten days are dedicated to Christ’s Ascension.

The ancient period ends with the Pentecostal tone. Ten days after the ascension, according to Christ’s promise, the apostles descended on God’s behalf. The Spirit and the Strengthened Apostles testify to Christ throughout the world.
